Pakistani police storm home of former PM Khan, arrest 61

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is at the center of a political storm, with authorities deploying thousands of security forces in Islamabad to prepare for his corruption hearing.

The authorities closed parts of the capital and prohibited political activities and gatherings, while urging residents to stay indoors during the hearing.

Khan faces charges of corruption and has formed a committee to lead his party in case of his arrest. In recent statements, his assistant announced that Khan would soon go to court in Lahore to support a petition to stop his arrest warrant. Khan claims that his political opponents and the military are trying to prevent his return to power, and that there is a greater threat to his life than before.

The Pakistani media reported that police forces had stormed Khan's house in Lahore to arrest him, with social media users sharing videos of the incident. Khan warned that any attempt to arrest or kill him would trigger a strong reaction across Pakistan. He has accused his political opponents and the military of conspiring against him and attempting to block his path to power.
