Russia continues its military invasion of Ukraine, launched on February 24 by order of Vladimir Putin.

On the 123rd day of Russia's full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, Russian troops continue their attempts to capture the settlements of the neighboring country. The Armed Forces of Ukraine and its territorial defense units are resisting aggression. It is impossible to verify the statements of representatives of both sides of the conflict from independent sources. According to the UN, about 14 million residents of Ukraine have already left their homes.

Residents and companies in France should limit their electricity and fuel consumption in order to be better prepared to overcome the impending energy crisis in winter. The heads of the French energy companies Engie, EDF, and Total Energies stated this in an open letter published by the Journal du Dimanche. In their appeal, top managers refer to a sharp decline in Russian gas supplies as well as limited electricity production in Europe due to maintenance problems and insufficient generation at individual power plants. Despite the growth in the supply of liquefied natural gas, the import of this raw material can not yet make up for the lost volumes, warns the management of the companies.

This year, the UK is ready to provide Ukraine with another 525 million US dollars (about 500 million euros) as guarantees for loans from the World Bank. This means that if Ukraine cannot repay the debt itself, the UK will do it for it. Thus, the total amount of financial support from London will reach $1.5 billion (1.4 billion euros), according to the British government website.

The British government notes that "the UK's loan guarantees play an important role in eliminating Ukraine's funding shortfall, allowing development banks such as the World Bank to provide the Ukrainian government with many more loans than they could otherwise issue." The new loan is needed to pay salaries to state employees as well as for the maintenance of schools and hospitals.

The President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, in his video message dedicated to the beginning of the fifth month of the war, promised that Ukraine would return all the cities captured by Russia. Severodonetsk, Donetsk, Lugansk-we will return everything. Every week we are moving towards Kherson. Not a day goes by that Melitopol, Berdyansk, Energodar, and Mariupol are forgotten. And all other cities in Ukraine temporarily occupied will be only Ukrainian, "Zelensky said."

The Ukrainian leader called the current stage of the war "emotionally and morally difficult." "When we know that the enemy will not succeed anyway when we understand that we will still be able to defend our state, but we do not feel the time limits of this, we do not feel how many more blows, losses, and efforts there will be before we see that victory is already on our horizon," Zelensky said.
