The Ukrainian Army loses the center of the key city of Severodonetsk

 

Ukrainian troops have had to withdraw from the center of Severodonetsk under pressure from the Russian army. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said the human cost of the fighting in Severodonetsk is "terrifying."

The Ukrainian army has reported that it has abandoned the heart of Severodonetsk after a fresh Russian onslaught against the major eastern Ukrainian city, for which both sides have been battling for weeks.
