Several killed in shooting at Tulsa hospital
TULSA, Okla., June 1 (Times england) - At least three individuals were murdered in a shooting at a medical institution in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, police said.
Captain Richard Meulenberg of the Tulsa Police Department said "many" persons were hurt and "some died."
A report of a guy with a firearm at St. Francis hospital campus "developed into an active shooter incident." City Councilor Jayme Fowler said the shooter killed himself.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the three victims," Fowler added.
St. Francis Health System closed down Wednesday due to the Natalie Medical Building. Police are searching the building room-by-room.
The Natalie building has a breast health clinic and outpatient surgical facility. People were asked to avoid the area.
The Tulsa incident follows high-profile murders in Buffalo, New York, where 10 Black people were slain, and Uvalde, Texas, where 19 students and 2 instructors were killed in May.
