At least five people were injured in Japan as a result of a magnitude 5.2 earthquake that hit Ishikawa Prefecture on the coast of the Sea of Japan on Sunday, according to the agency "Kyodo". The secretary-general of the Japanese Cabinet, Hirokazu Matsuno, confirmed at an emergency press conference held in Tokyo that the Kashiwazaki Kariwa nuclear power plant in Niigata Prefecture, the largest in the country, has not recorded any malfunctions in its operation. However, its operation has currently been stopped. The high-speed train service, on the other hand, kept going as usual, according to JR, which did not cancel its flights because of the earthquake.
