Ukraine Destroys a Russian Ammo Depot as the Donbass War Intensifies
On Sunday, Ukrainian military said they attacked a Russian ammo storage in the country's east, as fighting escalated.
According to a social media post by Ukraine's Operational Tactical Group "East," soldiers destroyed one infantry combat vehicle, one armored personnel carrier, five armored fighting vehicles, two artillery systems, three heavy artillery tractors, one gasoline tanker, and three unmanned aerial vehicles.

"Ukrainian defenders continue to discourage the attacker in the Operational and Tactical Group East's area of responsibility," the statement said. "Today, May 29, our artillery fired on the Russian fascist army' personnel and equipment."
On Sunday, violent fighting and deadly close combat engagements erupted in Severodonetsk, an eastern Ukrainian city, as Russia moved to capture complete control of the country's eastern Donbas area.
Following the withdrawal of Russian soldiers from Kyiv, the Donbas area has been the focal point of Russia's conflict against Ukraine in recent weeks.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is aiming to capture the two major eastern districts of Luhansk and Donetsk, swaths of which have been under the hands of Kremlin-backed rebels since 2014.
