Russian military said to fire S-300 missiles at Israeli jets over Syria

According to Channel 13 news, Russian soldiers fired powerful S-300 anti-aircraft missiles at Israeli jets as they purportedly targeted sites in northern Syria last week, signaling a dramatic shift in Moscow's attitude toward Israel.

According to the article, the Syrian military launched dozens of anti-aircraft missiles, which have generally failed to stop the hundreds of Israeli assaults on Syria in previous years.

However, the S-300 batteries opened fire again as the planes were leaving the region, posing no genuine threat to the IAF pilots, according to the article, which also noted that Syria's S-300 batteries are operated by the Russian military and cannot fire without their permission.
