French journalist killed by shelling in Ukraine's Luhansk region


 


Efforts to evacuate civilians from the Luhansk region in eastern Ukraine were put on hold Monday after a French journalist was killed by shrapnel from a Russian shell that hit an armored vehicle.


Gaidai wrote on the Telegram app that shrapnel had gotten through the vehicle's armor and killed the French journalist who was inside.


Gaidai gave a picture of a press card that showed who the journalist was.


The French foreign ministry said that it was looking into the news that the journalist had died
